The Venue Director will open the venue on wedding day for you and your guests, control lights, temperature, refresh restrooms, greet vendors, oversee set up, clean-up and other venue-related tasks. Please note that they are not responsible for running your timeline.

What does the Venue Director do on wedding day?

We only have a few preferred vendors you are required to use:

You must use our required bar services, working directly with Artful Libations.

You must choose from our list of approved caterers.

Couples are not required to use our recommended planners, but to provide the best experience, are strongly encouraged to use a planner from our list. At a minimum, couples are required to hire a professional planner that is vetted and given written approval from The Skyroom.

Though these are the only required vendors, we highly recommend utilizing our preferred vendors as they are familiar with the space and provide an incredible, consistent experience for our couples.

Do we have to use your preferred vendors?

YES! We are LGBTQ+ friendly and welcome couples or clients of all races, genders, sexual orientations and backgrounds. At The Skyroom, we believe that love is love and all are welcome to celebrate in our space.

Do you serve same-sex couples?

Yes! We’d love for you to show your friends, family and vendors the space to get them excited for event day! We host an open house on the second Wednesday of each month from 4-7pm. While formal tours aren’t available during that time, a venue director will be onsite to answer questions as you walk around.

If that timing doesn’t coincide with travel, please schedule a self-guided tour with your planner to visit the space.

Can I bring my friends and family by to see the space?

Your hired planner should be able to answer most of your questions. However, if you have questions pertaining to the venue specifically, you can reach out to our owners through events@theskyroomnc.com. We make every effort to answer questions within 48 business hours. Resources can also be found on our site through the couple’s portal! Please note that responses may be delayed Friday-Sunday while we are hosting events. We are also closed on Mondays for cleaning and repairs.

Who is my point of contact during planning?

Hotels are located nearby in Pittsboro’s Chatham Park (less than 10 minutes away) and are included on our recommended vendor list. Other convenient hotels can be found in Chapel Hill or Cary.

Where are the nearest hotels?

We are located in a growing area, so Ubers and Lyfts come to our venue every weekend. We also have partnerships with nearby hotels for shuttles, or rock star vendors to recommend for valet, large guest shuttles and specialty car rentals.

Are Uber and Lyft available at The Skyroom?

Yes! The rental runs from 9:00am-10:00pm, with 10:00-11:00pm reserved for vendor clean-up. If you need additional time in the morning for hair and makeup or vendor setup, you can add up to 2 hours at a rate of $300 each. Events can end no later than 10:00pm.
